Two dozen students from 10 high schools around Texas opted for the video storytelling segment of the 2026 edition of the ILPC/TAJE journalism summer workshop. The Intersholastic League Press Conference (ILPC) and Texas Association of Journalism Educators (TAJE) are leading journalism education organizations, which often partner with the Texas University Interscholastic League.
The yearly summer workshop hosts more than 100 students participating in a variety of journalism training options, including reporting and writing articles, yearbook and photojournalism. This is the first year the ILPC/TAJE workshop hosted video story time. Those students spent their weekend in the newest academic building on the San Marcos campus: Live Oak Studios, where they reported, shot and edited their own video, and produced the newscast you can watch below.
