The Bobcat women’s tennis team is on their best win streak since 2014.

The team practices at the Bobcat Tennis Complex off Peques Street and East Sessom Drive. After hours of hard work and training, they won against New Mexico State (6-1) on February 23, bringing their streak to five.

Sophomore Jacqueline Schnabel explains the importance of developing a strong team bond on and off the court.

“Our lineup is super deep this year, so I think we have a really good shot at doing well in conference,” said Schnabel.

Head Coach Kendall Brooks comments on what has contributed to her team’s success throughout this new season.

“They’ve come to work every day since we started this semester and really kind of focused on that growth mindset of just getting better and better each time we take the court,” said Brooks. “I think we’ve kind of found ourselves with some good momentum right now. Things are clicking, especially on the double side.”

Senior Jadeh Chan explains how she and the team lock in during the season.

“We try and kind of play our game and not really focus too much on the other team and just play the way we’re coached to and supposed to play,” said Chan.

The Women’s Tennis team’s season lasts until the Sun Belt Conference Championship on April 24 in Rome, Georgia. To purchase tickets, visit the Texas State Athletics Ticket Office or call (512) 245-2272.
